This is a great concept! I remember seeing a promo for this a year ago and it came across my screen when looking at Spike Jonzes' work. The premise is that they had hundreds of people paint 12 canvases in one night and they are making it into an animation that will last 1 second. Then they will have credits roll for 40 minutes. The idea is also that anyone can become a producer for $1. I havent seen the one second clip, but they have all the paintings up on their website, here. That Freddy Brown segment gets me everytime.

Despite the fact they are on that slightly awful Jimmy Fallon show (what can I say, its grown on me) . THE ROOTS KEEP GIVING US HEAT! Hopefully, their new mainstream job can help secure the necessary album sales to support this album. So far, they are 3 for 3 with their songs. Cant wait for June 22nd. ALSO, where is that Black Thought album???
The release date (6/22) for The Roots' new album, How I Got Over, is rapidly approaching. Today, we're blessed with track 11 off the LP, "The Fire," featuring John Legend. We first got a taste of this jawn back in March when footage emerged of The Roots crew performing the song during the opening ceremonies of the Winter Olympics in Vancouver. Let "The Fire" burn up those speakers for now, and be on the lookout for the Rik Cordero directed video coming soon. Check after the jump for the FINAL How I Got Over tracklisting. HIGO will be in stores June 22nd.

So, I must give all the credit to my friend Jill. She has introduced to me a whole new world of greatness. I knew of Gilbert & George, but I didnt know of them, and I am slightly upset that I have never heard of them in depth before; because apparently they are superstars. Their view on art and politics are not entirely new, but for some reason it resonated with me; especially Georges' idea of protesting for something rather than against things. "It's too exhausting," he says. I have to admit, in my work, it has been protesting about issues and I can agree-firsthand-it is tiring and slightly boring. I mean who isn't making protest work. It has been a huge eye opener for me. And as they recount their day, it seems quite interesting. I will be sure to try it out the next place I move, since I absolutely need a car at this moment.
NOTE: If you don't want to watch this full 30 minute clip. PLEASE WATCH FROM 11:00-12:00 minute mark. It is a nice glimpse into their personality and work. Great stuff!.

"No one man should have ALL THAT POWER!" Kanye did it again with this heater. This song has been on replay at least a dozen times a day. It's some incredible music. Despite his personality and his brash tactics, this man gets it in with music and I always appreciates someone who is passionate about what they do. Official artwork by George Condo. ENJOY!
I am going to be honest. I have never been a big fan of performance art as what it has become. It always seemed for shock value to be honest with you. Exposing breasts here, making loud unruly noise there. Never made much sense when looked at from far away. But over time, I have come to accept them as an art form. I have, however had many conversations with others who almost at the thought of performance get angry at the thought of it, and believes there's no different between them and David Blaine. And I must say, how could I argue with that. BUT, after reading and knowing about this retrospective for the past year now, I am sorely angry that I missed out on seeing this great exhibition. I have heard nothing but glowing reviews about this show and how could you speak negatively about it. JUST LOOK AT THE PHOTOS. THAT IS WHAT EVERY ARTIST DREAMS OF....TO TOUCH JUST ONE PERSON THAT WENT TO THEIR SHOW. The ability to make the viewer feel. Feel what is not the issue, but to feel something. And she has accomplished that AND much more...Congratulations. I hope to have such an impact one day.

This is the first in a series that will lead up to the release of THE HIGHLY ANTICIPATED album, that could be the hip hop "album" of the year as far as under-the-radar artists go. It is a project that teams up two artists, J.Kwest and Breeveazie into one team- Verbal Kwest. I wont get into the full details about the full concept of the album and the tracklist. I will divulge more details as it nears the release date, but I will keep you updated with my visuals for the project.
It's the mighty Mos Def in the lab making this dope song produced by Ski Beatz for the highly anticipated mixtape 24hr. Karate School. Directed by Creative Control. Expect to see more videos from that team as I'm a huge fan of Creative Control and their movement (and they're from Chicago, ha).
It's been a very hectic past year, going to place I never wanted to go and doing things I never wanted to do. I also have not touched art in a LOONGG TIME, well at least to me, a long time. That has changed however and I am about my business and my love. ART is my life and love and the heart cannot serve two masters, so its time to reclaim my spot in this grind. So like T.I. I was once imprisoned for a while, but now I'm out and not about to lose my place in this race.
Oh yea, it doesnt hurt that this song is HOT FIYAH!

Welcome to the wonderful world of my thoughts. THIS HAS BEEN A LONG TIME COMING! It won't be a truly true reflection of my full thoughts, randomness or personality, but will be represent a large portion of who I am. This page will not only contain my art, or just art for that art, but will be an aggregate content site. This means that I will post anything and everything I come across that interests me and I want to share with you, so expect throw videos, music, artist spotlights as well as my own artwork and updates on my life.
I will be updating this site every day with new content, at LEAST once a day. So make sure you check back often and early. For the concept of this blog, think Kanye West x Family Guy with a dash of Jane Lynch. Im making myself do this, so the least you can do is check it out...jerks! Ha, Lets Begin!
